The third in the series of animal law workshops under the banner of Animal Law in Australasia was hosted by Sydney Law School on Thursday, 11 July 2013. The workshop followed the Australian Animal Studies Group conference held at Sydney University from 8-10 July. The workshop was a wonderful success, and a great chance for old friends to meet new colleagues embarking on work in this exciting field. Twenty five people attended the workshop that was comprised of four distinct elements:
- Presentations of papers and works-in-progress – this was the more formal component of the workshop. Time was allocated to discussion after each presentation.
3. Presentations by Higher Degree Research Students – this was an opportunity for postgraduate research students to present a component of their thesis for feedback and discussion.
4. Being an animal law academic: teaching, research funding and getting published.
